Dear readers (and especially Karol with a K)...
After a leisurely early morning, our group headed to school early to finish up homework before our anticipated class start time of 10:30. In classic Monday fashion, Prof. Berliner’s morning commute was complicated by a “comedy of errors.”
As 10:30 approached, program assistant Brandon kept the class entertained as Prof. Berliner took bets on his arrival time. At stake: an extra half point on Wednesday’s midterm. Congratulations to Signe for her astute guess of 10:51!
Today’s class focused on linear congruences and Diophantine equations, an excellent connection to the beginning of the term! It was a rough Monday for many people, so Berliner generously canceled our afternoon class to give us time to rest up and study for the midterm on Wednesday. Several of us wore masks to class as we were feeling a bit under the weather (although every COVID test has been negative so far!)
We went to grab our usual lunch at the kebab restaurant near school, then headed back to the hotel to work on homework. Like many of our classmates, we spent the afternoon securing train tickets and hostel reservations for our free weekend in Vienna! We also did laundry and stopped by Lidl to stock up on materials for PB&J.
We all finished our homework, so as a special treat we took a trip to every floor of the hotel to look around. There were some interesting design choices.
Tomorrow will be a big day of midterm prep, best of luck to everyone!
