Free Weekend, day 1
Howdy hey!
Today begins our free weekend. It started, for me, as many other days start. I wake up and eat breakfast with my roommates, I return to the room and contemplate doing my homework (and inevitably decide against it), and leave to go to school.
With our day beginning with math at 10 as usual, it did not feel like the beginning of free weekend.
Even now, as I'm writing this, this morning and this evening feel like two completely different days.
Anyways, the day began with math and a nice observation that Adam and Dylan were matching!
The attention to math today was dwindling due to snow, which created a beautiful Budapest to walk out to after class ended around 12.
I grabbed lunch to go and joined my roommates back at the room. The three of them were excitedly packing for Vienna and getting last second advice and chatter out before leaving about 90 minutes after getting home. During that time, I ever so graciously offered to do their laundry and decided it was probably best to finish my homework before going out to meet with Bence!
Around 3, I made my way deeper into the Pest side of Budapest to meet Bence, who has been one of our wonderful Hungarian guides (Emese's sidekick). Bence and I went to a very neat little teahouse and tried mint tea, Hungarian cookies, and a Hungarian walnut layer cake. I regret to inform you all that I did not take photos of much other than Bence ordering, but trust me when I say that this was a super neat little area.
Bence and I both deserve a PhD in yapping because we ended up staying there for around 6 hours just chatting, so I have very little to report on other than we cannot shut up. We talked about politics in our own countries and surrounding countries, our embarrassing high school selves, the woes of indoor heating, stand-up comedians we enjoyed, and Bence's volleyball career.
I took very few photos (I did not expect to be in a teahouse for 6 hours, in my defense), so enjoy the few I did end up taking. Wish me luck on doing my homework before the day its due!
Signing off,
Quinn
